A very nostaligic song reminding me of my childhood. A very favourite song of my eldest brother Mani. Mani anna , a wonderful singer hmself used to sing this whenever he used to come home from his engineering college Hostel on vacation. I was the tablist (on a plywood Chess/Draught Board). We used to have hours and hours of music session till mom comes shouting to stop...Wowow....what a nice time we had those days...

Mani Anna..this one is for you - a very sincere and affectionate dedication.. I still remember the song in your voice..I am sure I have not reached anywhere near your standard, but have given it my best shot...

An Excellent composition of the inimitable Shankar -Jaikishen duo from the Shammi Kapoor-film Junglee. Quite a difficult one to sing the way the legend Mohammed Rafi Saab has sung. Hence did not even bother to try it that way. Have sung the way I knew it and I could in my own style.

The song which I have sung here with Meena is the cover of the song originally sung by Kamalahaasan and S. Janaki. Kamal was not at all sounding out of place singing with a genius like Janaki amma...

Singing a Kishore Kumar's song after a long time. ..a song deep meaning engraved in it. I am always scared to sing a Kishore song.. Its not easy create the magic of Kishore kumar. Many try to copy with not much success - no offence meant to any of those Kishore da Song singers.. Kishore Da is one of the most versatile singers we ever had.. I have not tried to copy Kishore da and have sung in my own style..

This song is from the movie “Adhikar”(1986).. Such meaningful lines were written by Indeevar and composed by Bappi Lahiri..

My second attempt at a Kannada song - the first one being Ninnindale. From the moment I first heard this one I was completely in love with it.. This beautiful composition of Mano Murthy sung equally well sung by Sonu Nigam, is from the movie “Mungaru Male”

Kannadigas.... please bear with my diction, if it is too bad. I have taken maximum care to pronounce the words right..But being a non-Kannadiga, will probably reflect in my diction anyway..Overall singing quality,according to me, was not so satisfactory..There are a few off pitch notes in the Pallavi(Mukhda). But I got fed up trying so many times . Getting right the diction, tune and the overdose of expressions as Sonu, were tough. Decided to stop all the trials & upload and wait for your feedback/verdict..:)

A song which is very close to my heart. This song brings back the memories of my college days when I used to sing this quite often .. Especially that farewell party in 1972 when my rendition of this song brought tears in many of my classmates' eyes.. those near and DEAR ones..

One of my favourite oldie from “Sangam” – A Raj Kapoor Movie. Originally sung by the three legends of Indian music industry – Mukesh ji, Lata ji and Mahendra Kapoor ji.

Though both Subha and Sreeharshan were not familiar with this song , on my request they took pains to learn and have done a wonderful job as you can find out.

One of the most melodious songs in Tamil which really gives most of the old timers wonderful nostalgic memories..This number from the movie “Pasamalar” had lyrics written by the legendary lyricist Kannadasan, composed by Viswanathan-Ramamurthi and sung by T M Sounderarajan and P Susheela..

Thanks to Meena, a wonderful singer, for proposing to sing this with her and also for singing the female portion so nicely….This is the first ever cover of TMS done by me .. I have not tried to copy his style at all as it is impossible for me to do so…

Another old Malayalam hit for which Ganagandharvan Dr. K J Yesudas got a National Award. It was the first major hit of Ouseppachan as a music director. Incidentally Ouseppachan and myself used to be quite friendly during our college days and have done couple of stage shows together in the mid seventies..

I have tried to sing the melodious song to the best of my ability . I am not too sure if I succeeded in my attempt.

I dont think the song needs any more intro than what is written above.. It is a difficult song . Moreover it is so popular that every one knows the minutest details of the song..

Parinda (Meaning – The Bird) is an award-winning 1989 Indian film directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Parinda is considered by many to be the turning point in reality in Hindi cinema, as the theme of the film discusses the real life of Indian underworld gangsters and the general life of residents in the city of Bombay (now Mumbai).

This song, a masterpiece of Pancham da (R D Burman) was one of the four songs in the movie. This was the most popular one too. An excellent composition by the legendary composer and beutifully rendered by Suresh Wadkar and Asha Ji.

A Malayalam song which really makes me VERY VERY nostalgic. It brings back the memories of my school days.. I had sung this song for a function to raise funds for the war fund. This was probably in 1965 or 1966.

Like "Kadalinakkare " this song again needs no intro for a Malayali. I did try to sing this almost a year ago…but did not come out as I wanted to be. I think I have rendered with better perfection now and thought I would share it with all of you …

For the Malayalam film music, “Chemmeen”(1965) the movie which got the President’s Gold medal, was a major turning point. It was the first of many malayalam movies (around 25 in total) for which the veteran music director Salil Choudhury gave music.

The songs of this movie, needless to say, were super hits. It was my wish to render this song for long ..But it somehow was not coming to my priority list till a friend in Muziboo.com , Mr.Subramanian (SUBBU) who suggested to me to sing this in one of his comments to a song of mine.. This is a very special song for me…for various reasons. First and foremost beause it is such a beautiful song with such lovely lyrics. Secondly lot of nostalgic memories come to my mind with this song. Both good and bad memories.. This song reminds me of a very successful stage show of mine done in 1983, in which I personally taught this song to a girl who sang it very extremely well in the show. That was the good part of the memory of the show..The sad part is that Arun Dalvi, a singer in the show, died on the same night in an accident..

I am attempting this wonderful composition of Ravi. This song from the movie ‘Nikaah’ was originally sung by Salma Agha. This is the first time I am singing a female original song. I have also made certain variations in the song. I have tried to sing with controlled emotions…..not the crying type…

Another duet with my daughter Priyanka.

One of the finest melodies composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy team for the film ‘Lakshya’. The song was originally sung by Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam..

The track which unfortunately was only there for one antara…I copied it again for the second antara. As a result the interlude music is same before both the antaras…

This song was proposed to be sung with another female singer.Due to her throat infection, we had to keep postponing this project. At last she told me to go ahead and sing with someone else as there were no signs of improvement in the condition of her throat ....I would have normally waited for her to get well and then record.. But here Priyanka was very keen on singing this , though did not tell me about that..I sensed it and let her sing this... I think she did a good job anyway..
