Soorya Kireedom - Cover By N V Krishnan

For this year's ONAM I wanted to sing and upload a Malayalam song. This is a sopng that has moved me a lot. Very nice melodious song from the movie "Devasuram" so nicely sung M G Sreekumar. I would rate this one as one of his best. This song was composed by M G Radhakrishnan, a noted musician, composer and also the elder brother of the singer M G Sreekumar. Song was written by the most popular and successful lyricist in Malayalam now - Girish Puthencherry.

Hope I have done reasonable justice to the song. I am extremely thankful to Mr. Sreeharshan Nambiar, a wonderful singer himself and an fellow blogger for all the help and assistance extended to me in getting the mixing right.. ..Thanks a lot Harshan.

Gudgudee(Just Married) - Cover by Priyanka Krishnan

I am uploading a song of my daughter Priyanka after a long time. As you can see she has very good potential as a singer if she gives more attention to music and singing which she is not able to do at present due to the priorities attached to academics .

Here she has covered a song from the movie ‘Just Married’ sung originally by Sunidhi Chauhan..Though this song somehow did not get too popular, this is one of my favourite songs of Sunidhi.

Priyanka has dedicated this song to her best friend Deepika who had requested her to sing this quite sometime back……

A special thanks to Azam bhai who promptly arranged the track ….

Friends please listen and let us know what you feel about it

Ya rabba (Kailash Kher) - Cover by N V Krishnan

I am probably being over confident of myself by trying a number like this. Absolutely a song of different genre from my usual type. Was tempted to sing this when I heard this first time ..

Please pardon me for any lapses and advice me about the areas for improvement…I have not in fact stuck to the original song fully. Especially the ending harkat was improvised a bit by me..

Looking forward to your feedback..

This song of Mukesh ji has been a favourite of millions for years. I am no exception. Though it was on my ‘to sing’ list, it was pushed further by my friend Shampak who made a request to me to sing this one. Thanks Shampak for considering me capable of doing some justice to this classic song.

I am not sure whether I did any justice or not.. Do listen and give your honest feedback. Up-loading a 128kbps version after a long time ..Hope it works..

Mal Priyane - Christian Devotional Cover (Malayalam)

Yesterday when I heard this Malayalam song rendered by Keerthi , U K based friend of mine who is also an extremely talented singer ,I could not resist the temptation to sing this ..As the track and lyrics were quite handy and I also could find the much needed time for that..

And here is my version of this lovely Devotional song in my voice.. This is my first attempt at a Christian Devotional song. If the Feel and expressions and also the pronounciation are not right , please pardon me and also advice me.

Hope I did a reasonably acceptable version. In fact I have not heard the original at all..So please excuse me for any deviations

Your feedback will be highly appreciated. And last but not least .. Thank you very much Keerthi, for introducing me to such a lovely song.

Choo Lene Do Naazuk Hoton ko(Kajal) - Cover by N V Krishnan

Though this is a fresh recording done now, this was the first song I had recorded in my voice with a Karaoke. That was around 2 years ago. Being a song I was singing after almost 25 years with so much of seriousness, with the Back ground music and that too in front of a microphone in a professional recording studio, the outcome was obviously not up to the mark.

I decided to redo the song and here I am…This is definitely better than my earlier recording though how good it is….it is for you all to decide…

Do listen and let me have your feedback

Bhooli Hui Yaadon(Sanjog-1961) -Cover by N V Krishnan

A very nostaligic song reminding me of my childhood. A very favourite song of my eldest brother Mani. Mani anna , a wonderful singer hmself used to sing this whenever he used to come home from his engineering college Hostel on vacation. I was the tablist (on a plywood Chess/Draught Board). We used to have hours and hours of music session till mom comes shouting to stop...Wowow....what a nice time we had those days...

Mani Anna..this one is for you - a very sincere and affectionate dedication.. I still remember the song in your voice..I am sure I have not reached anywhere near your standard, but have given it my best shot...

Hope you all will hear and give your views on my attempt...

Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par(Junglee) - Cover by N V Krishnan

This is one song which is a favourite of any music lover in india. A song every singer would like to cover sometime or other. I too am making an attempt..

An Excellent composition of the inimitable Shankar -Jaikishen duo from the Shammi Kapoor-film Junglee. Quite a difficult one to sing the way the legend Mohammed Rafi Saab has sung. Hence did not even bother to try it that way. Have sung the way I knew it and I could in my own style.

Listen to this and give your honest feedback..

The song which I have sung here with Meena is the cover of the song originally sung by Kamalahaasan and S. Janaki. Kamal was not at all sounding out of place singing with a genius like Janaki amma...

Meena, Thanks for suggesting this song and singing it so nicely..

Main Dil Tu DHadkan -Cover by N V Krishnan

Singing a Kishore Kumar's song after a long time. ..a song deep meaning engraved in it. I am always scared to sing a Kishore song.. Its not easy create the magic of Kishore kumar. Many try to copy with not much success - no offence meant to any of those Kishore da Song singers.. Kishore Da is one of the most versatile singers we ever had.. I have not tried to copy Kishore da and have sung in my own style..

This song is from the movie “Adhikar”(1986).. Such meaningful lines were written by Indeevar and composed by Bappi Lahiri..

Anisuthide (Mungaru Male) -Cover By N V Krishnan

My second attempt at a Kannada song - the first one being Ninnindale. From the moment I first heard this one I was completely in love with it.. This beautiful composition of Mano Murthy sung equally well sung by Sonu Nigam, is from the movie “Mungaru Male”

Kannadigas.... please bear with my diction, if it is too bad. I have taken maximum care to pronounce the words right..But being a non-Kannadiga, will probably reflect in my diction anyway..Overall singing quality, according to me, was not so satisfactory..There are a few off pitch notes in the Pallavi(Mukhda). But I got fed up trying so many times . Getting right the diction, tune and the overdose of expressions as Sonu, were tough. Decided to stop all the trials & upload and wait for your feedback/verdict..:)

Please listen and give your feedback..

This song is from the movie "Ummachu" and was originally sung by P Jayachandran..

Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega(Sangam)-Cover by NVK, Subha and Sreeharshan

One of my favourite oldie from “Sangam” – A Raj Kapoor Movie. Originally sung by the three legends of Indian music industry – Mukesh ji, Lata ji and Mahendra Kapoor ji.

Though both Subha and Sreeharshan were not familiar with this song , on my request they took pains to learn and have done a wonderful job as you can find out.

Please listen and give your feedback.. Thanks to Paras for sharing the Karaoke track with me.

Malarnthum Malaratha(Pasamalar) -Cover by N V Krishnan and Meena

One of the most melodious songs in Tamil which really gives most of the old timers wonderful nostalgic memories..This number from the movie “Pasamalar” had lyrics written by the legendary lyricist Kannadasan, composed by Viswanathan-Ramamurthi and sung by T M Sounderarajan and P Susheela..

Thanks to Meena, a wonderful singer, for proposing to sing this with her and also for singing the female portion so nicely….This is the first ever cover of TMS done by me .. I have not tried to copy his style at all as it is impossible for me to do so…

Please listen and let us have your honest feedback on our singing..

I dedicate this song to my Mother-in-law who, I am told, has very fond nostalgic memories attached to this song..

Unnikale Oru Katha Parayam - Cover By N V Krishnan

Another old Malayalam hit for which Ganagandharvan Dr. K J Yesudas got a National Award. It was the first major hit of Ouseppachan as a music director. Incidentally Ouseppachan and myself used to be quite friendly during our college days and have done couple of stage shows together in the mid seventies..

I have tried to sing the melodious song to the best of my ability . I am not too sure if I succeeded in my attempt.

Please listen and let me have your honest views on it..

Deewana Hua Baadal (Kashmir Ki Kali) - Cover By NVK with Smitha

Yet another song with Smitha..This time an all time classic of the Great O.P.Nayyar Ji-Rafi Saheb-Asha ji trio from the movie 'Kashmir Ki Kali'.

I dont think the song needs any more intro than what is written above.. It is a difficult song . Moreover it is so popular that every one knows the minutest details of the song..

Hope that we have done reasonable justice to the song.. I am very thankful to Smitha Passanha for asking me to sing this with her and also for mixing this song.

Your feedback is very eagerly awaited..

After a gap I am posting a song.. This song, which many of the youngsters would not have probably heard so much, is from Mooladhanam(1969). It brings back the memories of my school days and Satyan Master on whom the song was picturised.

In fact I was inspired to sing this number after seeing a telecast of this song in the Doordarshan recently..

My first attempt to sing a Ghazal of another great Singer – Pankaj Udhas. I have always been a great admirer of Pankaj Udhas’s Ghazals. After singing so many of Jagjit ji’s I thought it high time for me to venture in to others’ Ghazals too..

Here I am with a very popular number of Pankaj Udhas. This was probably first sung by him live at ROYAL ALBERT HALL , London.

Tum Se Milke - Cover by N V Krishnan and Smitha Passanha

Parinda (Meaning – The Bird) is an award-winning 1989 Indian film directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Parinda is considered by many to be the turning point in reality in Hindi cinema, as the theme of the film discusses the real life of Indian underworld gangsters and the general life of residents in the city of Bombay (now Mumbai).

This song, a masterpiece of Pancham da (R D Burman) was one of the four songs in the movie. This was the most popular one too. An excellent composition by the legendary composer and beutifully rendered by Suresh Wadkar and Asha Ji.

Here I have attempted to sing this with Smitha Passanha. I am sure you all will listen to this and give your feedback..

Alliyambal -Cover by N V Krishnan

A Malayalam song which really makes me VERY VERY nostalgic. It brings back the memories of my school days.. I had sung this song for a function to raise funds for the war fund. This was probably in 1965 or 1966.

Like "Kadalinakkare " this song again needs no intro for a Malayali. I did try to sing this almost a year ago…but did not come out as I wanted to be. I think I have rendered with better perfection now and thought I would share it with all of you …

I wish that you all will hear and let me know what you thought about this…

Kangal Irandal - Cover by N V Krishnan and Subha

A beautiful Tamil song of the recent times which probably has umpteen number of cover versions. Many of the singers in the blogging world have done their version of the song.

I too join the crowd – I am singing with an extremely talented singer Subhashini Mukund , who, according to me has sung brilliantly..

This song is slightly a deviation from the songs I normally sing. But have tried to do my best ..

Your feedback is needed for us to improve further..

Kadalinakkare Ponore (Chemmeen) - Cover by N V Krishnan

For the Malayalam film music, “Chemmeen”(1965) the movie which got the President’s Gold medal, was a major turning point. It was the first of many malayalam movies (around 25 in total) for which the veteran music director Salil Choudhury gave music.

The songs of this movie, needless to say, were super hits. It was my wish to render this song for long ..But it somehow was not coming to my priority list till a friend in Muziboo.com , Mr.Subramanian (SUBBU) who suggested to me to sing this in one of his comments to a song of mine.. Thanks Subbu for suggesting..

Please listen and give your feedback..

A very famous ghazal of Jagjit Singhji.. Though I have not heard this so much as his other numbers, used to like this very much. It is very soothing…

I have sung it in my own style without really copying Jagjitji’s version. I have also added certain harquats which are not there in the original..

Please listen and give your feedback..
