Another cover of a Jagjit Ji's Ghazal ... This one is from the Album "Saher". Yesterday I was in a mood to sing a ghazal and saw the karaoke track of this number.. Though I was not too familiar with this ghazal, decided to learn and sing.. Started yesterday after noon and completed the recording in an hour or so... After a few of corrections here and there I completed the mixing today morning..In short it is a cover done in a few hours time..Please listen and give your views...

Here is another duet with Rashmi Nair – one of the most talented singers in the blogging space.. . A very brilliant song from the movie “Mudalvan”. Though I had proposed to cover its Hindi version, it was Rashmi who suggested to go for the Tamil. Glad that we ultimately covered the Tamil version which is indeed a much impressive and better one…

Tamil lyrics was quite tough for me… I hope my diction is not too bad….

This song of Rafi Saheb, from the movie Beti Bete(1964)is my all time favorite…In addition to the musical aspects, lots of nostalgic memories are attached to this song… Beti Bete is the one and only movie to which we all four brothers have gone together – never before or never after….!!! I remember those days when we were living at a small town called Feroke, near Calicut, Kerala…. We had to travel to the city(Calicut) which is around 10 Kms from Feroke, to see a Hindi movie…

I am uploading a song after almost 3 months. After the death of my mother who was the main person behind my music, I was not in a mood to sing or record. However I have completed this one and am presenting to you all…

This is a NAZM written by Kafeel Aazer and originally sung by Jagjit Singhji.

Ghazal is a poetic form consisting of couplets which share a rhyme and a refrain. A Ghazal, in short, is a collection of couplets (called sher) which follow the rules of Matla, Maqta, Beher, Qaafiyaa, Radif, Khayaal and Wazan. In a Ghazal every Sher, should be an independent poem in itself though ,in some cases, it is possible for for all the Shers to be on the same theme.

A NAZM is an Urdu poetic form that is normally written in rhymed verse. It is a complete poetical work – centralization of a thought. We cannot write a part Nazm. It will be just like an incomplete story.

This song of Mukesh ji has been a favourite of millions for years. I am no exception. Though it was on my ‘to sing’ list, it was pushed further by my friend Shampak who made a request to me to sing this one. Thanks Shampak for considering me capable of doing some justice to this classic song.
